Specific Job Description:

This position is in the Reverse Mortgage sales organization within the Home Equity business of Consumer Real Estate. The senior segment and reverse mortgages are targeted growth opportunities for Bank of America Corporation. The potential market is large (seniors hold over $4 trillion in home equity) and will grow rapidly in the coming years (the number of senior households will grow by 10 million in the next 15 years). Bank of America will grow to become the reverse mortgage industry leader, by providing an unmatched value proposition and best-in-class service.


The Equity Loan Officer will respond to customer inquiries and referrals that are generated through the Equity Loan Officer’s contacts, other Bank of America business channels, and bank-sponsored marketing. The Equity Loan Officer continually identifies, develops and maintains a network of business relationships, including professionals, elder care organizations, and personal contacts, as well as other valuable referral sources that serve as a recurring source of referrals for reverse mortgage lending opportunities.


The Equity Loan Officer conducts interviews with prospective borrowers in order to determine customer objectives, serves as a trusted advisor for all potential and existing customers and is always cognizant of senior concerns. The Equity Loan Officer ensures overall exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics, serving senior concerns and complying with all Federal and State compliance policies.


General Description: Responds to customer inquiries and referrals generated through self-sourcing, other Bank of America business channels and bank-sponsored marketing regarding the Bank of America reverse mortgage products. Continuously identifies, develops and maintains a network of business relationships that serve as a recurring source of referrals for reverse mortgage lending opportunities. Conducts interviews with prospective borrowers in order to determine customer objectives, serves as a trusted advisor for all potential and existing customers and is always cognizant of senior concerns. Ensures overall exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics, and complying with all Federal and State compliance policies.

Required Skills:

Previous real-estate lending experience
Demonstrated success in prospecting, generating leads, closing business and consistently meeting/exceeding production goals. Experience in establishing and maintaining a network of referral sources
Ability to understand and communicate complex financial terms and calculations
Must demonstrate the highest of ethical standards in his/her business practices
Must consider the customer experience as a top priority
Must have the ability to travel regularly, to meet at the customer's preferred locations
